ACHE Congress? We've Bean There!

This past week, Trinity HCAD students had the chance to enjoy the annual tradition of attending the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Congress in Chicago. This fun ritual allows first-year students to bond with their classmates, meet and learn from ACHE's community of executives, connect with Trinity alumni, prepare for Preceptor's Conference with mock interviews and experience the city of Chicago.

All 23 of the first-year on campus students attended the event along with the Trinity HCAD faculty and a number of the second-year students, who are currently in their year-long residency. There were over 100 education and networking sessions so students were busy meeting with healthcare professionals and graduate students from across the country. Hopefully these connections will turn into friendships as students advance in their careers.

Trinity professor, Dr. Amer Kaissi, won ACHE's Book of the Year for his book Intangibles: The Unexpected Traits of High Performing Healthcare Leaders and many of the students and faculty were in attendance for this honor. (Be sure to listen to the ACHE podcast with Chris Coraggio and Dr. Kaissi to learn more about the book!)

The students also took advantage of their time in Chicago and made sure to explore the city. They visited Cloud Gate, Navy Pier, Hancock Tower, tried deep dish pizza and by the end of the week, the class was even closer than before. Overall it was a great week and we are so thankful to the alumni for supporting this annual tradition!
