Graduation!

"It's the most wonderful time of the year..."  For Trinity HCAD, there's an additional reason why that phrase rings true.  While most programs celebrate graduation in May, our program's students graduate every December, and this year we were thrilled to welcome back the Class of 2017 to campus to mark this important milestone in their lives.  This includes our wonderful Executive program students - who completed their two-year coursework in the summer while working full-time in their respective health care organizations in locations throughout the Southwest - as well as our accomplished On-Campus program students who just completed their year-long administrative residencies at various health care organizations across a wide range of cities, markets, and states.

The festivities began with the On-Campus Class of 2017's "First Reunion," in which students spent a Friday afternoon catching up with old friends (well, not that old) and sharing fun stories and important lessons learned during their administrative residencies.  We were so proud to see how remarkable their development has been over the span of just 28 months; it seemed like yesterday we were awkwardly welcoming these young, timid, but eager students who have now gained incredible experiences and look ahead to bright futures in health care administration.

As an added bonus, Mr. John Hornbeak, Trinity HCAD's Executive-in-Residence, shared some impressive updates about the impact that the Class of 2017 had upon Bexar County, the city of San Antonio, and its health care community through their efforts assisting the Haven for Hope during their capstone course in the Fall 2016 semester.

Saturday was the big day, when our Executive and On-Campus students in the Class of 2017 gathered together in Laurie Auditorium to wear graduation robes and receive their diplomas during the graduation ceremony.  As always, it was a moment of incredible pride, and we loved celebrating as an HCAD Family, sharing the special occasion with students' proud individual families as well.  Of course, the HCAD Family does like a good celebration, so festivities continued throughout the day, both with family and friends.  Congratulations to the Class of 2017!

With the year coming to a close, this marks the final HCAD Herald post for 2016.  We'll look forward to firing the blog back up when the Spring 2017 semester begins!
